The first budget of the Labour Government is released

Today, Rachel Reeves started fixing Britain's foundations. We're delivering on the priorities we were elected upon - investing in the NHS, investing in schools and protecting your payslip.

Here's just some of what the new Labour Government announced today to deliver change for Britain, Yorkshire, and our community:

 𝐍𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐱 𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 - a promise made, and a promise fulfilled.

 Increasing the employment allowance - that's £𝟏𝟎,𝟓𝟎𝟎 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥.

 𝐏𝐚𝐲 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟑 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬. Increase the National Living Wage to £12.21 an hour, and increasing the National Minimum Wage for 18-21 year olds.

 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 Mineworkers' Pension Scheme 𝐢𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 - returning over £1 billion to ex-mineworkers.

 𝟒𝟎% 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬, hospitality, and leisure sectors.

 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐙𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐮𝐭𝐲 - drivers will see no rise at the pumps next year.

 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬, so children don't go to school hungry.

 £2.3bn for core schools budget, £𝟏𝐛𝐧 𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐃, £6.7bn to rebuild crumbling schools.

 Invest over £500 million to drive rural broadband rollout, connecting our communities.

 𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟎 outside of Covid - ending some of the hardest times in NHS history.

 The largest ever budget directed at sustainable food production and nature's recovery in our country's history.

 𝐂𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐭 in your local.

 Compensation for the 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥.

 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 since its introduction.

 £𝟏 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 to support those struggling with the cost of living.

 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐱 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟖.

 £500m to 𝐟𝐢𝐱 𝟏 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫.

 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩, protecting passengers from the Tory cliff edge.
