My journey into politics began with trying to save my local Sure Start centre, so it was privilege to meet and show my support for the Wakefield Families Together programme.
Thank you to the team for taking the time to show me one of their family hubs, discuss the challenges they face and for letting me meet some of the people who utilise the service.
It is incredibly important that all children have an equal opportunity to succeed, and the Family Hubs that Wakefield Council provide are crucial to achieve this.
Young people deserve a Government that is as ambitious for them as they are for themselves.
I am glad that, alongside £69 million to continue the delivery of Family Hubs in the Budget, Labour is launching a consultation with young people to ensure they are empowered at a local, regional and national level so that funding flows to the things that matter to them
